Waar Mike vorig jaar nog probeerde een nieuw leven op te bouwen met Denise, woont hij inmiddels samen met Veerle in Altea, vlak bij zijn beachclub. Pas drie maanden zijn ze officieel een stel, maar het voelt, volgens Mike, alsof alles op z’n plek valt. “Het voelt gewoon goed,” zegt hij in een interview met de Telegraaf. De twee leerden elkaar kennen in Spanje en bleven in het begin nachtenlang appen, als verliefde pubers die geen genoeg van elkaar krijgen.
Die fase is inmiddels ingeruild voor rust, maar de passie? Die is er nog volop. Mike is er zeker van: Veerle is geen tussenstation. “Ik durf wel hardop te zeggen dat zij de moeder van mijn kinderen zal worden,” vertelt hij. Trouwen staat ook al op het wensenlijstje. Klein detail: ze zijn nog geen half jaar samen.
Schoonmoeder Monique is fan (en dat zegt alles)
Niet alleen Mike is in de wolken, ook moeder Monique is enthousiast over Veerle. Ze helpt regelmatig mee in de beachclub en dat valt goed in de smaak. “Ik vind Mo een enorm lief mens,” zegt Veerle daar zelf over. “Ze heeft zoveel humor.” Wie De Hanslers heeft gezien, weet: goed liggen bij Monique is wel echt een prestatie op zich.
